Associate Professor Liu Chao joined the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in February 2019 as a doctoral supervisor. His primary research areas include skeletal stem cell mechanobiology, bone tissue engineering and regeneration, and functional orthopedic implants. His scholarly publications in journals such as JBMR, Bone, and Journal of Biomechanics have been cited over 1000 times. He has received multiple Young Investigator Awards from international orthopedic and bone tissue research associations, most recently at the 2019 International Conference on Biomedical Sciences and Medical Engineering (ICBME). Within one year of joining SUSTech, he successfully secured and led projects funded by the Shenzhen Basic Research Program and the Guangdong Young Innovative Talents Program. In teaching, he instructs undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including "Biomedical Engineering (I)" and "Bone Tissue Engineering."
