The Programme Lead provides academic leadership on the joint Biomedical Engineering programme.

Vishwesh received a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, CA) in 2001.  He received M. Tech. from IIT Bombay (Mumbai, India) and B. E. from College of Engineering Pune (Pune, India).  He has worked as a post-doctoral researcher at MIT (Cambridge, MA) and the University of Boulder (Boulder, CO). He was an Assistant Professor at IIT Bombay (Mumbai, India) and at the University of Warwick (Coventry, UK). He has served as a Visiting Professor in Australia, China, France, Ukraine, and Russia. 

He is a Tata Consultancy Services Affiliate Fellow. He has co-founded a biotech start-up and has co-developed healthcare apps that are used by over two million people worldwide. He has authored a research monograph, two edited books, two standards, 30 journal papers and over 80 conference papers. His research interests encompass systems biology, synthetic biology, machine learning, and feedback control.
